You can search the archives by entering at least one search option to the left and clicking "Search."
Remember that you need to select at least one search option to perform a search. The more search options
you select, the fewer articles you will likely find in your search. If you don't find any articles, try
reducing the number of search options that you have selected. The following options are available to you:
- Text - This searches the content of the article for the keywords you enter in this box. You
can enter one or more keywords for articles that contain those keywords. You may also include phrases in
quotation marks.
Here is a simple search example:
The above example will search for all articles that contain the phrase "sea traders" AND the word "Greek."
You may also search articles that do not have a particular word or phrase, like the following example:
The above example will search for all articles that contain the phrase "sea traders" AND NOT the word "Greek."
You will also notice the + sign in front of "sea traders," which is optional and it will behave the same with
or without the + sign."
- Title - This searches the title of the article for the keywords you enter in this box.
You may do all the things in the "Title" option in the same way as the "Text" option above.
- Subject - This is a "pull down" box that will allow you to limit the results of your
search to a specific subject by selecting a subject from the list.
When this search option is set to "ANY," then all the subjects will be included in your search.
- Time Period - This is a "pull down" box that will allow you to limit the results of your
search to a specific time period by selecting a time period from the list.
When this search option is set to "ANY," then all the time periods will be included in your search.
- Magazine - This is a "pull down" box that will allow you to limit the results of your
search to a specific magazine by selecting a magazine from the list.
When this search option is set to "ANY," then all the magazines will be included in your search.
- Month/Year - This pair of "pull down" boxes will allow you to limit the results of your
search to specific magazine publication dates by selecting the month and/or year from the lists.
When this search option is set to "ANY," then your search will not limit the results by the magazine publication date.
